Function

Material Cutting and Crushing
The edges of the auger blades are typically designed with sharp cutting edges, which, when rotating at high speed, effectively cut and tear through coarse fibrous materials like straw and hay—breaking down large chunks into smaller particles—and thus laying the groundwork for uniform mixing in the next step.

Forced Stirring and Mixing
The screw conveyor's helical structure generates axial thrust through rotation, pushing various types of materials—such as concentrates, silage, straw, and minerals—from one end of the equipment to the other. During this process, the spiral blades continuously agitate the material, enabling heavier and lighter components (e.g., dense concentrates versus lightweight straw) to intermingle and intertwine, ultimately resulting in a uniformly blended total mixed ration.

Material Push and Circulation
The continuous rotation of the helical structure lifts the material upward from the bottom of the mixing chamber, simultaneously propelling it into a circulating flow throughout the chamber. (In particular, in equipment equipped with dual or multiple augers, the material is repeatedly crossed and thoroughly mixed between the augers), preventing localized material buildup and ensuring that every particle actively participates in the blending process.

Adaptable to different material properties
The auger's rotational speed, helix pitch, and blade angle can be adjusted according to the material properties (such as moisture content and fiber length): For instance, when processing high-moisture silage, reducing the rotational speed helps minimize excessive material breakdown; meanwhile, increasing the speed enhances cutting performance when handling tough straw.
